Prayers Power

JesusBetterThanExpectations

In Luke chapter 18 Jesus anticipated that people would become lackadaisical in their prayer lives.  Jesus told the story of the persistent widow in hopes that people might always pray and never give up.

“And the Lord said, “Listen to what the unjust judge says.  And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off?”  (Luke 18:6-7).

Jesus was hopeful that when he returned that he would find people with faith praying.  I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”  (Luke 18:8).

Paul encouraged the Saints in Ephesus, Colossae, and in Thessalonica to be diligent in their prayers.

In my encouragement to you, never become slack in your prayer life.  Appreciate the opportunity to connect with God.  Consider it a privilege to speak with him any time day or night.

Jeremiah recognized the access he had to God even in his confinement.  The word of the Lord came to him and said, “Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things to you do not know” (Jeremiah 33:3).

Appreciate the power we have in prayer!
